Awkward Red Carpet Moment #23423

Is Joey Fatone retarded or was he being awkward on purpose?

And when will douches stop talking about 'homosexuals' as if they're aliens from another planet! THEY ARE ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING EVERYWHERE. Let's not forget he was in N'Sync with Lance HOMO Bass. He shouldn't be THAT awkward about it.

*Flabbergastation*

This just speaks volumes about Hollywood and its attitude towards homosexuality. I.e. it's only ok if you're going to get an Oscar nomination out of it... other than that it's totally heinous and bizarre. Perhaps it was 'a challenge' for James Franco to portray a 'homosexual' (it is ok to say gay, y'know) but that doesn't stop it from being an incredibly lazy journalistic question.

Assuming that to 'suck it up' and play gay is massively horrible and something to be endured and suffered for one's art is all too terrible an idea. It brings back memories of one cast member of Queer As Folk (the US Version) who claimed that he was so disgusted by having to kiss another male actor that he had to spit between takes but that hey, a job is a job!

It also brings up questions about the lack of gay actors in Hollywood (and the rest of the acting world) and the fact that gay characters are never portrayed by gay actors.

Joey Fatone's ignorance and awkwardness surrounding the subject of "playing gay" may seem innocuous but it's completely typical of the attitude towards gay people in the movie-making business and is not very reassuring at all.

Aside from that it makes incredibly awkward viewing, which is not a good quality to have if your'e a professional red-carpet-interviewer.

Homophobia-related-FAIL!
