We wrote earlier in the year about amazing J-Pop star Utada's new American single, Come Back To Me. At the time it seemed like a terrible pop faux pas. Irritating, M.O.R., and absolutely not the kind of thing you'd expect one of the most creative pop minds on the planet to come up with.
Anyway the song's sort of grown on us (even though the "I admit I cheated" line turns our stomach). It's a sort of likeable R&B midtempo jam and has real potential to be a hit for Utada in the states. The video is above. Yes, yes it's BORING but it's sleek and we like Utada's bob and etc. etc. etc.
The FAIL of the title refers to the fact that despite Utada being one of the biggest selling artists on the planet, she's done little to NO promotion in the States. This is the reason her first English language album FLOPPED. Don't repeat the mistake, Utada... do some promotion. You might even go top 100 like Robyn.
