Hot Right Now - 12/05/09

We apologise for this not working like clockwork, but unfortunately we're usually otherwise engaged on a sunday evening, so you'll have to excuse our tardiness and accept our assurances that the Shiny & New 'Hot Right Now' Chart is 100% accurate (so please accept no substitutes).

This week VV Brown makes her number 1 debut (as we predicted last time). We can't work out whether this will be a huge smash for her. It sounds like a number 1 single for teh proper chartz but you never know with teh musicz industry. It remains, nevertheless, amazing. Gossip, Basment Jaxx, Peaches and Booty Luv all drop 1 place to find themselves all minutely displaced, Patrick Wolf's "Hard Times" drops a place to 9, Guetta and Rowland's "When Love Takes Over" slips and we have our very first re-entry on the chart! Annie's "Anthonio" reappears at number 10 having been absent for a couple of weeks.

In new entries we have Regina Spektor's deceptively unshowy "Laughing With" at number 6, and Jordin Spark's unstoppable "Battlefield" crashing in at 7 like a huge war gong.
