September all over again...

You can listen to the new September single here. It's not really 'new' in the sense of being completely fresh material. Like all her previous UK releases, it's a big new reswizz of something she's already released somewhere else. But nevertheless: it rates pretty high on the danceable-ometer. It also features a line about "over the Borderline" which is clearly a Madonna reference. So well done for that, Petra a.k.a Septembre.

The thing about Ms. Sept is that even though she may just come OFF as a novelty dance act, she's actually a rather brill popstar and her albums are the kind of nonstop pop-dance megaliths that musically outshine everything Cascada have ever released. A swathe of disco strings here, some spooky piano there. A rash of melodramatic chamber music as an introduction to a pop album here... and some unforgettable melodies there.

She's quite something.
