MPHO is a good pop thing. She's sort of the British Santigold, although putting her in the same category as Santigold just because they're both arty black girls who don't make 'urban' music, sort of defeats the point of them breaking the mould in the first place. But nevermind. Her jangly guitars, edgy vocals and idiosyncratic lyrics make her a similarly enticing treat, like Santigold. And that can only be a good thing.
