We believe this builds integrity within us as writers, and trust within the reader. An example of this trait is admitting that we really, really are enjoying some songs by former-hate-worthy 'quirky' singer Florence Welch. We've waxed (slightly) lyrically on her cover of the song that uplifts the darkest depressant, "You've Got the Love", and now we find ourselves pleasantly building our iTunes playcounts on new single "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)". Another S&N writer has already commented on the entrancing, summery video, and we must say this is the first single we've heard from Flo' that even begins to support the dozens of claims being paraded around by the press of Kate Bush's new successor (how many successors has Kate had?), gratifying the acclaim and 'Sound of 2009' lists she's featured in (not ours, we hasten to add).
We are still proceeding with uncertainty of the quality of her future output, but we will check out her album and give an honest review in due course.
