Here at Shiny & New we don't believe in 'guilty' pleasures, so we're going to admit it now: we love Jordin Sparks' new album. Big, uplifting, soppy, inspirational ballads are not usually our metaphorical 'cup of tea' (we can take or leave Leona 'basset hound' Lewis, and the rest of the Idol brigade) but something about Jordin just hits the spot. She may be a wholesome, virginity-loving Christian, but for some reason the great thunderous stormclouds of pop (?! - Ed) have aligned in her favour, and completely by accident bestowed her with the kind of likeability and big tunes you just can't buy.
