IT HAS ARRIVED.

Another momentous occasion in the shallow empty lives of Shiny & New writers; the tracklisting to Celebration has wormed its way onto the internetz. It would be quite unfair to claim credit for this discovery, so you can quite rightly check it out for yourself here on Madonna Tribe, an often unbearably sycophantic (yes, even more so than us) website which always seems to be 100% accurate when professing the ins and outs of upcoming Madonna deetz.

Much has been said about what should be and what shouldn't be on Madonna's first career-encompassing collection, but we believe the final tracklist is nearly flawless. The leaked details cover the two-disc collection, so we are assuming the one-disc edition will simply be the tracklist of the first disc of the two. We are SHOCKED and APPALLED at the omission of "Deeper and Deeper", with only one Erotica track making the cut (the eponymous lead single). We also find it difficult to believe that biggest-bomb-of-her-career-since-"Borderline" "Miles Away" slid its way onto the disc while Madonna-favourite and actually quite good "Give It 2 Me" was left in the rain - speaking of which, another Erotica classic and a personal favourite of this writer's was also ignored in favour of 'greats' such as "Dress You Up". In all fairness, we can't say anything else negative as nearly all of the songs that did make it quite rightly deserved to. This super-geek writer also liked the fact that "Justify My Love" closes the first disc (before new track "Celebration"), as it did on The Immaculate Collection nineteen years ago. We did have to stifle a lol at "Cherish" appearing on the second disc begrudgingly, as Madonna has made it quite well known how fond she isn't of that little ditty. One understands the second disc is more of a 'fan favourites' collection, while the first disc is bang-bang epic Madonna classics which will appeal to every pop music fan.

One final point of excitement: "Revolver". RaVaughn's demo has featured highly in our most listened to of 2009 for quite some time now, and with every new listen our hunger grows for the chance to hear the growl of Ms. Ciccone singing "My sex is a killer, do you want to die happy?"
