Usually when contestants on X Factor get (unfairly or unceremoniously) booted off the live shows before you expected, they disappear into the ether and are never heard from again. If they are heard from, it's because they're spearheading a half-arsed single and/or album campaign featuring music so terrible and forgettable you begin to question whether life is really worth living.
Laura White, however, seems to be determined to prove the exception to the rule. Not only does her debut single (up there) not offend our ears in any way shape or form, but it also sounds like it might chart higher than 82. A lot higher. Like Top 20. We're not saying her song is gonna change your life, we're not even sure if we think it's good. But compared to all the other miscalculated dross that comes out of the arses and mouths of X Factor losers, this is a comparative glistening masterpiece.
