Utada's album campaign: still going, in case you were wondering...

Utada, who is playing a special one-off gig in London (AND WE DIDN'T GET TICKETS - NOOOOOOOO) is continuing with her This Is The One campaign, despite little to no interest. And to be honest: she's not really trying, is she? Her new single, "Dirty Desire" (which oddly wouldn't sound out of place on Madonna's Hard Candy) is a song about sex and has some fairly filthy lyrics ("during my 9 to 5, I'm thinking 6 and 9s") but on this new (and official) single sleeve, she looks about as in character and raring to go as Ann Widdecombe at a Tory party conference. Even the font feels frumpy.

Poor effort: must try harder. What's most infuriating is that we know Utada's got it in her. Here she is in a shot from her last English language campaign, where, y'know... she actually made an effort:

See: sexy. And she didn't even have to get her 'vixen parts' (thanks for that Dawn French) out. Whilst we're on the subject of Utada, we had a strange dream recently where her album was at number 1 on the American charts: madness, but a lovely dream.
