This is Rihanna's video for "Rude Boy". There's been a worldwide rule instated that decrees that every single blogger who writes about this has to point out that it's an M.I.A. rip-off homage as if it's not already obvious to the entire population. Anyway: it's an M.I.A. rip-off homage.

As for how we feel about this: we know that technically it's not perfect. It occasionally looks verging on cheap, and it doesn't break any revolutionary new ground, but for some reason we enjoy it, have enjoyed it and will continue to enjoy it thoroughly. Maybe it's the fact that it's BRIGHT and COLOURFUL and FUN in a time when you're not a popstar if your videos aren't set in a graveyard or a brothel or an 80s montage or a homeless squat.

We're also enormous fans of Grace 'Queen Bitch Jungle Mother of New York' Jones and her work with Keith Haring inz thez 80zzzzzz so those bits of the videos set a fire in our collective loins.
