Stunning.

Alicia Keys is really bringing it this album era, and it's paid off (in the UK at least, where her album, The Element of Freedom, is on course to be her biggest selling album on these fair shores). Her new video for "Unthinkable (I'm Ready)" was released today and tells a multi-generational story about the pitfalls of interracial love and dating. It's stately, engaging, doesn't hammer its point home, which is good.

We know someone's probably going to write a deeply hilarious and lolsome blog post somewhere lauding this as ridiculous because of COURSE we all realise racism is wrong, but the uncomfortable truth is there is still a hell of a lot of ill-will from both black and white people aimed at interracial couples, and Alicia's video raises the issue with few pretensions and without attempting to solve or explain it.

Plus, Chad Michael Murray is in it and manages to do minimal squinting so... solid.
