Recently (although not all THAT recently, we're late on this as per) Robyn launched the video for "Don't Fucking Tell Me What To Do" on her nifty website. You can click here to watch it. It's one of those super-modern, genre-busting video innovations and the concept is that you can tweet words with the tag #killingme and they'll appear towards the end of the video.
Interesting in theory, but there are a couple of problems. First of all, no matter how fresh, new and creative a video purports to be, we would still invariably rather watch the artist kicking ass, taking names and wearing a succession of ridiculous outfits than indulging in some zeitgeisty technological fun. Second of all, unless you have some 3D glasses lying around the house (we don't - we refuse to own 'Avatard' on DVD, see) the effects are rather lost on boring old 2D eyeballs. Thirdly, a lot of people seem to have tweeted 'Robyn is #killingme', so once the hashtagged words start popping up, you just seem to be looking at the word Robyn over and over again, in overlapping red and blue letters. The fourth problem is that it seems to go on forever, so if you're as dim as us and sit there waiting for it to end, you will be waiting a very very very very very very very very very very very very very long time (i.e. eternity).
Still, nice idea.
