Shakira's new single "Loca" from Sale El Sol has appeared online. It's... fun, we can't imagine turning down the chance to 'boogie' or 'bop' to this, and the Dizzee Rascal feature doesn't feel too intrusive or cynical or like it was melded on by out-of-touch record execs who think a guest verse from a successful rapper will immediately transform a song into a hit.
But does it signify an album of quality, like Oral Fixation vol. 2 or the much-underrated She Wolf? Or will we be stuck with something rush-made and rush-released for the sole purpose of shifting units? And will this be a hit? It sounds moderately commercial, and we must admit, the tune of the chorus was still stuck in our head after we finished listening, but it doesn't exactly sound like a monster smash in the vein of "Hips Don't Lie".
