Stuck In Our Head: "You Gave Me Nothing" - Mark Ronson

We're not humongous fans of Mark Ronson. You know, he's not a bad producer - if you can find a corner deep within the vast library that is your memory which allows you to re-visit your original feelings upon hearing his production of the Amy Winehouse cover of "Valerie", before it became The Most Overplayed Song In the Long, Illustrious History of Overplayed Songs, you will remember that it was actually a well good song and it can still be, if you don't listen to it for a few decades. His sound got very tired very quickly, mainly due to said above Overplaying, and he didn't write any of his own songs - he matched singers with other peoples' lyrics and provided music, which didn't win him a huge amount of applause from critics.

Whatever, that's not what this post is about. It's about a marvellous song from his third, and very good, album. It features vocals from an ex-Pipette, and some man I don't care about it. It's a beautiful classic Eighties synth pastiche, of which there have been many in recent years - it may be more of the same, but it's brilliant more of the same. Some kind soul is yet to have put it on YouTube, so here's the link for Spotify.
