*soils collective panties*

Björk, a.k.a., the most important person in music, MAY be on the cusp (we really must stop using that in every single article) of releasing her first new studio album for almost four years. In a recent interview with Pitchfork she saideth the following:
Pitchfork: Are these political issues affecting your music at all?

B: Hmm, not sure. My last album Volta was about justice and I guess I was insisting on it at the same time. It is hard for me to say while I am in the middle of it but it is impossible for me to just stick gum in my ears and blindfold myself while finish my new album. There is a revolution going on in Iceland right now. So I guess all these things are affecting each other somehow.

Pitchfork: Are you working on anything at the moment?

B: Yes, it will be ready in few months.
A FEW MONTHS? Now, of course, this is extremely exciting for us. Not only because Björk is this writer's favourite and best of all time, but also because she is the second favouritest of all time (behind Madonna) for the other founder and senior editor of Shiny & New. So she's dear to our hearts. Yet another reason to be excited is that this will be the second (first for my partner in crime) Björk campaign to unfold during our actual fan-age - witnessing the album unfurl before our very eyes makes us fill our pants with joy.

Now, we don't want to get too excited. Björk has been working on 'something' before and then it's turned out to be a film soundtrack or a charity single to save the whole of Iceland. BUT, she practically spells out that this is her next album ('proper/studio' is implied) and we're going to take that hint and RUN WITH IT. The other reason not to explode with antici.....pation just yet, is that just because the material is ready in a few months, doesn't mean it'll be released in a few months. Miss B may want to get together a creative concept/image/promo campaign going to accompany the music, or, she may take longer than she anticipated (she usually takes an age to write anything). So we must be patient and not jinx things by expected an album signed, sealed, pre-ordered and delivered to our doors by March...

Having said that, a new Björk album is a new Björk album, and we're not going to pretend this doesn't make us beam at the very thought.

*gushing ends* (not that kind, you filthy minded perverts)
