Ew.

Having just complained that the current slew of female popstars writing songs about how IT'S OK TO BE YOU, YOU LOVEABLE WEIRDO is both tiresome and patronising, we're now going to go back on that a lil bit and say that: compared to what Avril's peddling, it's positively squeeze-of-a-lime refreshing!

Avril Lavigne seems to have actually regressed! Do you remember around her second album campaign where she did that video where she was dressed all old-timey (sorta 20s or something) and singing adult contemporary pop/rock angst-ballads? Well, you wouldn't have guessed that that had come YEARS before this!!!!!!!! This is the kind of video that would suit Miranda Cosgrove (who, incidentally has the better song). This is the kind of video that might seem immature even on Semi Lovato or Delena Gomez or whoever. It's just... there's nothing there. If you were to break this down to its raw elements (or whatever dem cleva scientists do) you'd find:
  • product placement
  • outdated pink hair streak
  • product placement
  • lame faux-rebellion that even Miley Cyrus would find boring
  • product placement
No.

  1. I saw the video and thought it was a joke. I can give Britney for putting her perfume in her video because she's amazing.
Avril's look, music and message are all outdated!
