Remiss: Again

We seem to spend half our time on here apologising for being remiss and forgetting to post about stuff. But there we go. We lead very busy lives. So here is a bumper post about Rufus Wainwright and all the stuff he's been up to. As you may or may not know he has a new album called Out of the Game which is coming out anon (so on the 23rd) and is produced by Mr. Mark of the Ronsons. Originally the idea of it didn't really capture our imagination because it seemed like it would be kind of a funk lounge soul record but there we go. It probably is that kind of record but we have room in our hearts.

Rufus' last album, 2010's All Days Are Nights: Songs for Lulu, was one of our fave albums of that year. It was a haunting mournful paean to his mother and musically right up our street made up of what sounded like live takes of gentle and then billowing and dramatic piano and vocal only tracks. So this seemed... less appealing. Nevertheless we've given the lead single's Helena Bonham Carter assisted video a go and we can confirm POSITIVE FEELINGS ON IT. It's quite good in a sort of relaxed, fun sort of a sort of a sort of a way. You know? (Get your things and leave - Eloquence Ed.)

Anyway here, because you know we're obsessed with album art and chronologies and such, is a lovely look at Rufus' album covers over the years:

That music video is after the jump so it is:
