Regina Spektor is great and we're looking forward to her new album. HOWEVER: why is one of the tracks on it (and probably - considering how it's being touted around - her new single) a rework of one of her old songs? Has she run out of new material? Did the record label decide she needed something upbeat and poppy and this was all she could come up with at short notice?
That's it (the new version up there). It's called "Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)". The original (down below) which was simply titled "Ne Me Quitte Pas", is pretty much exactly the same composition-wise, except, being from 2002 when Regina wasn't signed to a major label, it features only her and a piano, instead of the barrage of twee anti-folk clichés flooding out of the new version.
