Stuck in Our Head: "My Old Piano" - Diana Ross

Last night we went to a shimmering, spectacular night in Manchester by the name of Drunk at Vogue: probably the closest thing you'll find in the north of England to the phantasmagoric discos of late 70s/early 80s Manhattan. When this song dropped, the multi-coloured tropical storm we were in the middle of underneath a glitter ball heightened in all possible intensities and we were flooded with the magic of the dance floor that youth and 'going out' is all in the name of. We were aware of this song in the kind of peripheral 'heard it on Radio 2 when I was 14 on the M6' way so we could sing along, but it felt like we were hearing it for the first time. Absolutely joyous, and just another rhinestone in the flaw-free crown of the Nile Rodgers/Bernard Edwards production team. Oh, and... Diana.
