Amazing New Pop that IS Girls Aloud.

This may be a little premature, considering I have only listened to "The Promise" once, but where on Earth is Nicola Roberts? The song is faultless, a bouncy, brassy tribute to the sixties (?) with lots of crooning and swaying strings, but, as is the problem with Girls Aloud, I'm finding it incredibly difficult to distinguish who's singing what. Sarah Harding, unfortunately, has been given far too much and howls through 60% of a decent pop song, thereby ruining it. Maybe Nadine was too busy opening taverns in LA.

"Call the Shots" now OFFICIALLY the greatest pop songs of 2008, as proved by one of our distinguished Shiny and New bloggers, was a masterpiece. Not only due to structure and production and a blackcurrant cordial/ samsung themed video, but because of one of the greatest musical feats of all time- a listenable bridge. And who was singing it? Was she ginger and amazing? Exactly.
