A tather good P!nk video...
It starts off like Misery and ends up like the Shining. Rather good for a 3.5-stars-out-of-5 pop/rock mid tempo about breaking up with someone you love.
This is the kind of music video that Katy Perry would be making if she were actually as quirky as she'd have us believe. It's really good to know that Pink is a 'lesbian' (ALLEGEDLY!!) with a sense of humour.
Anyway we realise this isn't the kind of song that's going to set the charts on fire or change music as we know it... but we think that's the point. Ms. Alecia Beth Moore seems to have gotten all the amazing pop/punk chart-hit successery out of her system with "So What" and now she seems content on just being a kind of 21st Century Janis Joplin with good hair.
It's a good video.

I resent the "relaunch P!nk as an international pop brand" comment. She is currently selling more CD's than Beyonce and Britney Spears so she dont need to relaunch nuthin. Her last album Im Not Dead also sold 2X more than Britney's and more than Beyonce's last album.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, she is not a lesbian. She was married..duh.
She is not lacking any chart sucess whatsoeva. Her latest single Sober went Top 5 on the World Chart and is still climbing up the chart.
Just because she is not in the gossip pages all the time doesnt make her less successful. Her concert ticket sells are proof that she is the #1 female artist to dethrone Madonna.
First of all, there have been hundreds and thousands of people who identify as lesbians who have been married. The comment was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. We don't pretend to actually know anybody's sexuality.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, we are aware that P!nk is a highly lucrative and enormous-selling pop artist. We were making a vague exaggerating statement based on the fact that we don't predict Please Don't Leave Me to be a smash hit multi-platinum international BONANZA.
This isn't an insult though. We don't measure a single's worth against its potential success. If you do, that's your problem.
