We're not quite sure what the briefing for this video (or for Leighton's entire campaign) was going to be, but clearly someone somewhere down the line decided that the angle that would best befit a teen idol's pop career would be that of Heather Graham in Boogie Nights.
Yes, for this video above has the distinct glossy sheen of 70s porn about it. We realise that Heather Graham's character, Rollergirl, was blonde in Boogie Nights, but that's just nit-picking. Her and ol' Meester share a startling resemblance and the whole 'close-up-of-some-red-lipstick'/'writhing-around-in-a-taxi'/'soft-focus-near-nudity-on-a-plush-bed' thing is just very, well... porny.
Of course, we're not criticising: it's a sight more interesting and less saccharine than anything any Disney teen brat might be releasing. And we're also very much against giving flack to a woman just for acting 'sexy'. It's just not what we expected, at all.
