As we've mentioned before, we're enjoying the new Rihanna album a lot. Even if opinion is split here, we've all agreed that it completely subverts expectation, and whether or not you deem that to be a good thing is up to your personal taste and judgement. Anyway, this is an album track (probably destined to remain one, unfortunately, although the video would be spectacular and an arsonist's wet dream) and its got this 'ere writer hitting repeat on iTunes more often than is strictly healthy for any music listener, so we're mentioning it here. Also: it's stuck in our head, duh.
It starts with a rather abrasive guitar line before exploding into an incredibly pretty ballad, lifted up to another level by somewhat unusual production (over-distorted vocals, that guitar line continuing throughout). It seems to be about the traditionally erotic act of crashing your car and then setting your lover on fire - heart-warming stuff, readers. But, no, it's rather special. Enjoy!
