Alexandra Burke's 'Scholl Party Heels' advert...

Almost every single girl we know does that thing where at the end of a night dancing on heels they take them off and either risk dysentery by walking barefoot in shitty street puddles, or swap them for some 'discreet flats' they've stowed away in their magical Mary Poppins-style bottomless clutch.

Anyway: it's "Broken Heels". It's Burke's new single. It's up-beat and it's catchy. There's a glossy and fabulously well-choreographed video you can watch below.


We know it's not the second coming of pop, guys. We know it's not intellectually challenging, nor is it culturally satisfying. But come on... In this face of this year's beyond-beige X Factor finalists, Alexandra Burke's musical output is so comparatively refreshing, it's like a big, glossy ice cube slap-bang in the centre of the Gobi desert.
