Some unreleased things that are really good and probably should have been released, you silly billies...

We'd like to thank the excellent MuuMuse for alerting us to the unreleased Rihanna demo on the left. That version isn't actually recorded by Rihanna, but by 'up-and-coming' female MC Nicki Minaj. It's called "Saxon" (we're not sure why - but what a brillo name for a song) and it sounds like exactly the kind of thing that'd slot in perfectly on Rated R. Far be it from us to mess with a minor masterpiece, but it's brill and we'd love nothing more than to hear a RiRi version (get on it, love).

On the right is "Across The Sky" by Madonna. It was a leftover from the much-maligned but twistedly genius Hard Candy and was at one point rumoured to be on Timbaland's last album. It probably should have been on Timbaland's last album, because it's pretty fucking good and he could do with some decent material at the mo (Shock Value 2 barely went top 40 both sides of 'the pond'). It also would've been right at home on Madonna's aforementioned last album, but Timbaland needs a hit more, so it's only fair.

Can't think why these two are only seeing the light of day as 'leaked demos', but as we've just demonstrated, life's not fair.
