Something a lil' more innerlectual...

If you're the kind of person who usually reads our blog and has to skip through seven posts in a row whilst simultaneously rolling your eyes because you don't want to know anything about Ke$ha or you already saw that latex condom Lady GaGa wore to an awards ceremony, then THIS POST IS FOR YOU. We've written briefly about The Knife before and mentioned Fever Ray quite a lot (we loves her) so it was only a matter of time before we got our quills out and penned something about this.

What it is, is an opera about Darwin's famed book On the Origin of Species: How Ann Coulter Proves we're descended from Dirty Apes. Sidebar: when we did GCSE Biology (I know, get us) we had a teacher by the name of Doctor Wallace. Doctor Wallace liked to inform us on a regular basis that HIS GREAT-GREAT-GREAT-GRANDFATHER ALSO CONCEIVED THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION BUT DOES WALLACE GET ANY CREDIT? NO! It was like something out of a movie! The bitter descendent of a scientist who has been CRUELLY overlooked by history and the scientific community. Hilarious.

Anyhow, if we've read correctly (we never get press releases, so we're sort of patching this together) The Knife have written an opera with Planningtorock and Mt. Sims (two of those artists that get blogged about a lot). Sidebar, part II! Doesn't Planningtorock look amazing in whatever she's wearing there? You can just tell the sort of music she makes from that picture: frightening and borderline amazing. We'll get back to you if we ever find out if that's true.

Anyhow, part II! The music from this opera is being released as an album... we think. And if you go to The Knife's Official Website, you can download the epic, atmospheric and batshit crazy "Colouring of Pigeons" completely free! That's value for money. 11 minutes of terrifying post-everything horropera (we coined a new term) for nada.

*gets back to posting about shit*
