So if you're a speedy internet savvy gay you will have already heard these. Why are we bothering to post them then? Well because we have to. The clips of "I'm Addicted" and "Love Spent" are so brilliant they have actually blown us away and into another land. Are we exaggerating? We don't think so. Maybe we're suffering from low expectations due to the low quality of "Give Me All Your Money I Need To Pay My Mortgage Ha Ha Ha" and "Girl Gone Mild", but these two clips sound so much like exactly the kind of thing we wanted to hear from a new Madonna album that we are giddy with glee.
"I'm Addicted" is dark, fizzy, powerful, almost orchestral sounding. The "M. D. N. A." hook towards the end of the clip has us giddy and sounds like it could almost match "time goes by... so slowly" and "tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock" as the hook of the era. It's sophisticated, brooding and dance and it's what we want(ed) in abundance.
"Love Spent" is less blatant in its amazingness but it still sounds subtly brilliant, all layered and textured and rich and mournful with melody galore.
SO WHY THE FLOP LEAD SINGLES?
