No.

For some reason we carry a torch for Ke$ha. We root for her, Tyra style. Which is why we're about to unleash a Tyra-style mother-to-daughter I'm-not-angry-just-disappointed shouty preachathon at her.

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

We can't explain why we like Ke$ha. She's a sketchy concept stretched extremely thin. Her vocals are autotuned to a level that is quite frankly mostly unbearable. She's responsible for some truly heinous album track filler, so terrible it should be illegal. She's a record label invention who believes her own hype.

But by the same (different?) token we really like a fair number of her singles. "Your Love Is My Drug" is sheer pop brilliance, "Sleazy" managed the feat of being both hilarious and listenable. We like the other ones too (writing blog posts hungover is not a good idea).

So why the hideous sophomore album cover? Ke$ha, or The Unwashed One, is perfectly placed to cement her status as a major major label pop playa, she needs an iconic moment. A Like a Virgin not a Hold An Old Friend's Hand. In more modern terms, she needs a Teenage Dream not a Born This Way.

We don't need to tell you why these album covers are awful but they are. Maybe the music will be redeemable, but even if it charts new frontiers on the pop landscape it will still be from an album with the most hideous cover art of all time.
